Hello, Old Friend!

Remember the times, when we used to make the trends?

Laughing about anything and everything, not caring if it made sense?

When school was about everything but studies?

Copying homework, the hour before submission?

Got curious who’d be lucky to accompany the birthday girl/boy around the school?

Chasing each other around the corridors, even if it made us look like fools?

When we trotted along the opposite corridor to drink water just to avoid going back to the classes?

And lying to each other while fighting over class passes?

Remember the time when we used to do those stupid yoga poses on the ground?

And laugh at each other, giggles filling the ground, from one end to another?

When we all stood together for the class, making teachers mad?

When we signed our own tests and diaries, be it mom’s or dad’s?

When slam books were all the rage and teacher’s too when they spotted ours.

When we made fun of each other for no reason whatsoever, just to kill the time?

And pulling legs, of course, pairing up half of the grade with the person they don’t like!

Those games of truth and dare, and those days when we learned to care?

When we’d run down the stairs when the games period arrived and walk back slowly while our sweat dried?

Getting on the nerves of the teacher we didn’t like and hoping for a change, going on strike?

When we played Holi, on that hot day of April, drowning each other with bottles full of water?

Laughing like crazy when every teacher complained about our class being notorious?

Trying our best to find a way to escape when the time to be punished came?

The time when we got caught, and we were all in different seats?

When we escaped the teachers who were always ready to find fault?

When the social media hadn’t taken over our lives!

When playing basketball was one of the greatest pleasures of life?

The time when we turned the classroom into a stage, dancing while the tables became the source of music?

And consoled each other, in the failed love and relationships stage?

Calling each other, day and night, ready to stand together, ready to fight?

Exchanging friendship bands, counting the bands we got and hoping to keep them safe before we got caught?

Remember the time when we used to be friends, sharing our sorrows and joys?

Well, it’s one of those days again and I hope this letter finds you and works as the band to rekindle old memories and make us friends again!

Love,
Radhika
